You may or may not have heard that from 13th December 2024 there will be changes to safety regulations (GPSR) for exporting goods to the EU or Northern Ireland. There has been very little guidance provided for small businesses on best practices for compliance.
From what we can tell, these regulations will require us to test and stamp every single piece of jewellery that we sell, as well as employ an Responsible Person in the EU to act on our behalf with regards to safety compliance. Unfortunately it has become clear that this may become an incredibly expensive and difficult process, one that we aren't able to take on at this time.
Therefore we will have to make the difficult decision to suspend shipping to all EU countries as well as Northern Ireland until we are in a position to be able to work with these new regulations. This suspension will begin on 12th December 2024 11.45am GMT.
We recognise that this will be extremely disappointing for our huge Europe customer base, it's extremely upsetting for us too. This, along with continuing rises in the cost of shipping outside of the UK have brought us another incredibly tough year, and we know that these changes aren't just going to affect us, but thousands of other small businesses, artisans, and sole traders.
If you are one of our wonderful EU customers and would like to place an order before these changes come into place, please do so by 11.45am GMT on 12th December 2024 (EXTENDED FROM 10TH DECEMBER). Orders placed up until this time will be processed and dispatched as usual. After this time, unfortunately shipping will not be available to you. We will update you when the situation changes.
UK and non-EU orders will thankfully not be impacted by these changes.
